When you sign up for lessons, you commit to four lessons each month. We ask that you may make a commitment to come to your scheduled time each week. That being said, we understand that you probably have a lot of things going on in your life besides guitar lessons. If you cancel a lesson, we will make every effort to get you into another time slot before your next lesson. You will get on the list for a make-up lesson. We require that you still pay for all four lessons in the month. We do not accept students that pay for less than 4 lessons each month.
If you need to cancel a lesson, we only ask that you send an e-mail, text, or call as early as possible, but at least 24 hours before the day of your lesson. If you cancel a lesson, you will get a make-up lesson.
Example: You need to cancel your lesson Tuesday at 3:00. You send an e-mail Saturday. We ask if you if you can come Thursday at 4:30, Friday at 3:30, or the following Tuesday at 3:30 (making that an hour lesson) You say that Friday at 3:30 works best, so we reschedule your lesson and you come in Friday. After your Friday lesson, you will start again at your normal time the following Tuesday at 3:00.
Some months have five weeks in them. If you cannot come in another time that we suggest, Your lesson for the week will be skipped, and will have to be made up later in a month that has five lessons. If you do not need a make-up lesson and their are five weeks in the month, you have the option to pay an extra $15 dollars for the lesson (regardless of what type of lesson you are taking) or to cancel the lesson and start again the following week.
If you do not show up to a lesson, or you do not call within 24 hours, you will be charged for the lesson and will not get a make-up lesson. These policies are very lenient compared to most music schools! We will not try to take advantage of you if you will not take advantage of us!
Occasionally a teacher will have to cancel a lesson. If this happens, the teacher and student will try to find another time during the week. If they cannot find a time that works, your account will be credited and you will pay for three lessons the following month, but get four lessons.
We have a large number of students, and rescheduling can sometimes get pretty tricky. Please make an effort to come the lesson time you are signed up for.
Payment is due the first lesson of the month and is late after the 7th. Late payments will be charged a $5 late fee. We prefer that students pay on the last lesson of the previous month so that we can put together our schedule at the beginning of each month. When a student signs up for guitar lessons, they will need to buy a book. The book is $20, and will cover all the materials used to teach lessons.
You will be required to sign your name to a sign up sheet with these policies before you come to your first lesson.
